Ameztoi Txakolina Rubentis Rose 2025 750ml

One of my favorite things about wine is that it lets us try something from a part of the world we've never been to before. Each glass gives us a glimpse of another world and another culture. My wine pick this week takes us to the Basque region of Spain, about a four hour drive north of Madrid. It's a beautiful part of the country with a wine history that goes all the way back to the first century!

The Txokolina wine from this region are some of the most unique wines I've ever tried. They're sharp, dry, and lightly effervescent (like a Vinho Verde) and above all, delicious! I've been so excited to try them out and now the Ameztoi Rubentis has rapidly become my new go-to way to rose. 

This wine is beautiful. It smells like watermelon with a touch of herbaceousness, and on the palate it's got a nice touch of strawberry and a little bit of minerality. It's light, fresh and so easy to drink. 

Txakolinas are typically enjoyed before or at the start of the meal. I paired mine with a Caprese salad, but it would also be amazing with some truffle fries or a charcuterie board. However you choose to drink it, enjoy this little piece of Spanish history.
